We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to ensure that national/ international Health & Safety and Compliance standards are adhered to and continuous improvements are implemented pertaining to same, whilst fulfilling customer compliance requirements and organizational policies and to take responsibility in ensuring environmental sustainability (ES) initiatives are effectively implemented, sustained and continually improved per the Customer & MAS road maps.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Partner with leadership teams across multiple business units to develop, implement, and monitor health and safety strategies, action plans, and performance KPIs aligned with the organization's long-term safety vision.
  • Drive a strong culture of safety by conducting performance reviews, managing health and safety risks, integrating safety into employee accountability, and providing training and awareness programs for leaders and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety legal, customer, and regulatory requirements by monitoring changes, implementing necessary actions, and reporting compliance status to management.
  • Oversee internal audits and sustainability assessments, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions and continuous adherence to organizational and customer health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other business units to implement and maintain health and safety compliance standards, ensuring adherence to customer requirements and organizational policies.
  • Monitor compliance through sustainability assessments and quarterly internal audits, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions and continuous improvement of health and safety performance. 
  • Lead risk management initiatives by conducting risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and change management evaluations to identify workplace hazards and ensure effective implementation of control measures across all facilities.
  • Oversee safety compliance related to machinery and chemicals by ensuring safe machine processes, maintaining chemical inventories, and implementing best practices to minimize health and safety risks.
  • Be responsible for health & safety related budgeting and effective management of expenditure while evaluating and ensuring optimum value-for-money towards continuous improvement in health & safety. 
  • Manage emergency preparedness and fire safety across all facilities by developing, reviewing, and continuously improving emergency response plans in line with established procedures.
  • Coordinate and ensure effective implementation of safety measures such as mock drills, fire detection and protection systems, and emergency communications, while working with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen response readiness. 
  • Implement and maintain ESH management systems in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards across all SBUs by ensuring proper documentation, record keeping, and system compliance. 
  • Drive continuous improvement through employee training and awareness, data analysis of safety performance, and thorough investigation of incidents and audit findings, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

 

  • Degree in Engineering/ Facilities Management or other relevant qualification. 
  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH/ NEBOSH or other relevant qualification)
  • 3 - 4 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
  • Good analytical and presentation skills. 
  • Strong communication skills. 

Skills Required
