About This Role:

The Senior Events Manager is responsible for managing and executing a portfolio of Forrester’s North American forums. The role will be responsible for the complete end-to-end event execution: from pre-event registration, budget management, and logistical elements to ensure seamless execution and the creation of an exceptional customer experience onsite at all events. This position requires a highly motivated, positive-spirited, detail-oriented, creative, and client-service-focused collaborator who can deliver a great event experience that fits with the new Forrester event strategy and brand.

Job Description

  • Handle overall events logistics management of a portfolio of events.
  • Create opportunities to improve and innovate the customer experience by flawlessly and consistently executing events.
  • Manage cost and budget to accurately forecast on a per-event basis.
  • Drive a positive working environment by communicating effectively.
  • Act as key partner to other business units to help make the onsite event experience aligned with goals and objectives (research, sales, leadership boards, certification, and consulting).
  • Identify optimal onsite events investments to improve and lift the customer experience and innovate how we deliver: technology, activations, etc.
  • Lead and inspire the team which includes onsite support that requires travel to events and pre-event planning.
  • Create centers of excellence within the team where appropriate — customer experience, venue logistics, registration, F&B, AV production, customer feedback, etc.
  • Collaborate with the events leadership team to ensure the end-to-end client experience is seamlessly managed and that the events operations team clearly understand the needs of the audience and how this can be achieved in a live event environment.
  • Collaborate with the manager sponsorship operations to ensure end-to-end sponsor experience is seamless and drives high engagement between sponsors and attendees.
  • Build effective relationships with wide range of external partners ensuring clear comprehension of the strategy, production, venue sourcing, trade show/sponsorship, etc.
  • Effectively manage projects, adhering to timelines and templates and accurately track and evaluate results on overall project goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related business field (CMP certification is preferred).
  • Eight-plus years of event operations experience, with proven success producing world class events.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Experience with logistics, customer service, and creative production.
  • Knowledge of account management is an advantage.
  • Strong background in conference/event management.
  • Exceptional computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and SFDC. Expertise in event registration platforms such as Cvent.
  • Budget-management and financial-forecasting experience.
  • Client focus and relationship management.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Familiarity with contract negotiation, hotel/venue negotiation, and supplier management.
  • The ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation while executing flawlessly.
  • Expertise in customer experience design and delivery.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to objectively measure success.
  • The ability to lead indirect reports.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • High sense of urgency.
