This is your new job:
In this role you will be part of our BG IC Solutions development team, you will take ownership of the ESD requirements and implementations for integrated circuits developed by IC design teams. You are expected to have detailed understanding of the physics behind ESD phenomena and standard ESD IC protection circuits and integration techniques. You will be responsible for selection of ESD protection strategy for the full integrated circuit, selection of ESD protection components and design of ESD robust I/O circuits. Your mission is to ensure the silicon designed is meeting product ESD specification. The role involves working closely with cross-functional team during architecture, design and validation phase.
 

What will the candidate work on.

  • Leads the design team with the definition of the ESD strategy and the selection of ESD components that meet customer requirements

  • Collaborate with internal Nexperia Front End team on ESD library components and ESD rule development activities in CMOS and BCD technologies

  • Develop and prototype ESD circuits and components in CMOS and BCD technologies, along with measuring, characterizing and qualifying ESD and I/O structures.

  • Design and Layout of I/O circuits and the integration of ESD protection circuits, components and ESD protection techniques.

  • Drive ESD related failure analysis and debug activities

Daily activities and Projects

You will come to work in cross functional project teams consisting out of design engineer, test and product engineer, quality engineer, a project leader and the product manager as main stake holder of the end products. Your daily activities are I/O and ESD circuit design and layout, perform electrical spice simulations to verify function and product requirements specifications, perform TLP measurements, ESD consultancy for other design teams
 

This is you:

  • Master degree in semiconductor physics or electrical engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor industry and circuit design

  • Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and characteristics

  • Experienced with standard CMOS and BCD process technology

  • Own knowledge and experience with ESD mechanisms and state-of-the-art ESD circuit design techniques and topologies

  • Hand-on experience with EDA tools and ESD test and characterization equipment

  • Possesses Analytical Skills and ability to apply pragmatic approaches

  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken

  • Target driven with best of the mix business (costs) targets and technical targets

  • Pro active behavior, entrepreneurial attitude and thinks solutions

  • Work independently and confident in making choices.

  • Nice to have: Skilled with T-CAD for optimizing process technologies and development of devices

This is your department and colleagues:

You will come to work in a larger team of IC Design Engineers and ESD expert as your direct colleagues, all closely working together in the Nijmegen location of Nexperia. The team is divided into three products groups, which are Standard Logic and Switches, Voltage Translators and I2C controlled GPIO and Switches and eFuse power switches. The focus of your job will be Logic and Voltage Translators, with opportunities to grow and support in the other design groups as well with a stretch to our design teams across the world. For your role you will have a highly advanced TLP setup at your disposal to perform characterization in the lab yourself. The design and layout of circuits are done with tools of world leading EDA vendors like Cadence and Ansys. The design groups work closely together with the Front End and Back End technology teams in Nijmegen for the development of integrated circuits and packages.
