Senior Escrow Accountant
*This is a hybrid work arrangement. Twice per week required in-office.

JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Escrow Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial transactions and records related to escrow accounts. This role involves ensuring compliance with escrow accounting principles, preparing financial reports, and providing guidance to junior staff. Additionally, the role requires experience in banking, treasury functions, project management, and the title industry to manage cash flow, financial risk, and implement treasury-related projects effectively.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Escrow Accounts:
- Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of escrow accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to address discrepancies and maintain updated records.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all escrow transactions comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Regularly keep up to date with regulatory requirements and changes.
- Audit Preparation:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify and address audits proactively to ensure smooth, timely completion and maintain organized records.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of escrow accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Transaction Processing: Process and record escrow-related financial transactions, including deposits, disbursements, and adjustments.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of escrow transactions and ensure proper documentation is in place for compliance.
- Support and Training: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and assist in their professional development.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with escrow transactions.
- Banking and Treasury Management:
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Monitor and manage financial risks.
- Ensure efficient and secure handling of funds.
- Project Management
- Assist with treasury-related projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
- Assist with development of project plans and timelines
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Title Industry Expertise:
- Apply knowledge of title industry practices and regulations to manage escrow accounts effectively.
- Collaborate with title officers and other professionals to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting escrow and title transactions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, escrow, banking, treasury functions, preferably within the title industry.
- Understanding of accounting principles, escrow regulations, banking/treasury operations, and title industry practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and treasury management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with various stakeholders (internal and external).
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn, with a positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This is a hybrid position, combining both in-office and remote work, allowing for flexibility while maintaining collaboration and productivity
Salary Ranges:
Northern CA: $71,700 to $80,000 annually depending upon experience.
Southern CA: $65,800 to $78,000 annually depending upon experience.
This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on the successful completion of defined performance objectives.
