What we are looking for
Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure manufacturing quality of the Aurora driver kit integration into OEM vehicles, primarily supporting End of Line testing activities. A successful candidate excels at complex problem solving, has a strong quality and product focused mindset, and can lead cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate quality problems, issues and risks through development and execution of rigorous testing.
In this role you will
Work on-site at our partner facility in Livonia, MI
Work hands on with Aurora’s self driving trucks
Design, develop and implement test plans for verifying and validating hardware operation of complex systems
Deploy scripts/software to test systems, analyze data, and create test reports
Troubleshoot and debug a variety of system and component level failures
Perform general root cause analysis, characterize defects, provide detailed descriptions of failures and recommended corrective actions
Use a diverse set of applications and tools, including but not limited to:
OEM provided diagnostic SW tools such as Cummins Insite
Measurement instrumentation such as DMM, Picoscope, Linux and Windows based CAN tools
Custom test harnesses, tools and fixtures
Use Linux command line and python tools for testing and debugging purposes
Build tools to interact with various test and quality management data systems
Coordinate cross-functional solutions with engineering and manufacturing teams
Assist manufacturing teams and technicians with hardware issues
Support the activities relating to continuous improvement and non-conformance reporting/management
Follow and support company safety requirements, policies, procedures and work instructions
Follow, update, and/or create written, verbal, and visual instructions
Required qualifications
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
3+ years of experience in quality, autonomous vehicle manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly operations, robotics or equivalent field experience
Strong understanding of embedded software concept
Experience with programming and scripting (C++, Python or equivalent).
Experience with testing and characterizing communication protocols such as TCP/UDP, CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, and UART
Ability to interpret complex system architecture, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience working in a Linux environment
Desirable qualifications
Experience with Github
Experience debugging complex electronic assemblies and/or manufacturing cable assemblies
Ability to provide well-formed, objective feedback on complex system issues
Experience with automotive manufacturing and quality specifications
Ability to travel to company locations in the continental U.S
The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $196,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
