Your Role: Senior Environmental Engineering Leader
As the Senior Environmental Engineering Leader, you will be pivotal in managing and driving compliance across various environmental regulatory programs, including, Drinking Water, Wastewater, Soil & Groundwater Protection, and supporting Solid and Hazardous Waste, and Air Permitting (Title V). In this role, you will ensure adherence to IDEM and EPA regulations, lead environmental projects, and represent the site in regulatory matters.
Your Responsibilities:

Environmental Engagement: Promote and model environmental practices, eliminate environmental hazards, and provide peer-to-peer feedback to ensure proper environmental behaviors.

Lean Manufacturing Culture: Optimize environmental stewardship by integrating effective practices into the business through coaching and consulting and apply the Plan/Do/Check/Act (PDCA) approach for compliance.

Environmental Technical Resource: Provide technical expertise and leadership in environmental regulations, conduct impact investigations, perform self-assessments and audits, and manage multiple projects to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Site Representation: Act as the primary representative during IDEM and EPA inspections, manage permit applications, and interact with global and legal teams to address environmental needs.

Project Leadership and Regulatory Reporting: Lead environmental compliance projects, coordinate sampling activities, prepare and submit regulatory reports, and ensure proper record-keeping and training.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental, Science, or a related regulatory field.

Required Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental regulations, including Solid and Hazardous Waste (RCRA), Clean Air Act, Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Soil & Groundwater Protection.

Top 2 skills: In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Basic knowledge of the Clean Water Act (CWA), groundwater, and drinking water rules.

Experience in a production environment and regulatory field.

Proven ability to influence and inspire teams.

Prior experience in managing environmental compliance projects.
