Title and Summary
Senior Enterprise Operations Engineer
Overview
Provide advance Network support as a member of our EMEA Network operations team under our global follow the sun model. You will provide Network support to the business by identifying root cause of issues and implement fixes as required for same. You will be required to continuously improve the environment by identifying issues and work with your team or others as needed to implement long term fixes to permanently address them. You will on occasion be required to provide network support to project teams in support of their deliverables and assist with the training of more junior staff when required.
Major Accountabilities • Perform Tier II Network support to the MasterCard business.• Provide Network support to project teams in support of infrastructure deliverables.• Perform proactive network analysis to ensure network integrity and performance is in an optimal state.• Create or update documentation to support the environment as required.• Plan, coordinate and implement changes to the network following our internal change control process.• Produce reports in support of any issues resolved or progressed by you.• Some on-call responsibility and occasional off hours work required.
Knowledge / Experience in some or all of the following is required:• Deep understanding of BGP, IBGP, OSPF routing protocols • Advance knowledge of routing and switching with hands on experience on industry leading platforms.• Comprehensive understanding firewalls, Checkpoint and Palo Alto.• Good understanding of WAN technologies and experience is preferred (EVPN /SDWAN/MPLS/GRE Tunneling)• Knowledge of working with Teclo carriers in the delivery & maintenance of MPLS/Internet circuits.• Automation experience, delivering change or provisioning via industry standard automation tools (Python scripting, Ansible or others) is desirable.• Experience with remote VPN services.
Knowledge / Experience desired:• Security products such as Netscout, Tufin.• Experience in working with file transfer protocols, Connect Direct & SFTP.• Experience in Payments / Fintech industry in support of authorization traffic or file transmissions.• Experience in working support of Incident calls is fundamental experience required.• Hands on UNIXLinux exposure & experience.• Familiarity and experience with industry standard network monitoring tools. • Experience of Batchjob scheduling applications (TWS).• Knowledge and experience of using Esxi based solutions.
All about You• Demonstrated strong knowledge levels and experience in a Network Infrastructure Delivery environment. Experience in payments industry is a plus.• Strong Communication and documentation skills.• Strong analytical/problem solving skills with troubleshooting experience in a pressured environment. • Experience in operating under a global follow the sun model.
