Senior Enterprise Architect

Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Java Tech Lead / Senior Enterprise Architect to join our team in Washington, DC. You will lead an engineering organization whose mission is to accelerate operations through enterprise-class Java development, data discovery, and analytical insights. The section leverages SAFe Agile methodologies and robust DevOps practices to deliver scalable on-premises and cloud-based applications that enhance operational data discovery, analytics, and visualization tools for national security missions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Java Development: Lead engineering teams in designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-class Java applications and target baseline architectures for production environments.
• AWS Cloud & Architecture: Architect, build, and optimize scalable, highly interoperable cloud solutions leveraging extensive AWS Cloud Experience.
• Pipeline Management: Implement and oversee automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing Git and GitLab for seamless version control and rapid code deployment.
• Agile Execution: Champion SAFe Agile and SCRUM methodologies to align standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy.
• System Integration & Analysis: Identify design gaps in existing and proposed architectures, recommending enhancements to ensure stability, portability, and scalability while supporting ATO and security accreditation processes.

Work Schedule:

Typically, Monday through Friday 8-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours. 

Essential Responsibilities:

Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Senior Enterprise Architect with 7–9 years of experience to join our team in Washington, DC. You will provide technical and management leadership on major enterprise tasks, designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-class systems, processes, and robust database architectures to support critical mission needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Enterprise & Cloud Architecture: Design, build, and implement production-grade on-premises and cloud-based applications, developing comprehensive baseline and target architectures with extensive AWS cloud architecture and services experience.
• Database & Data Management: Architect, manage, and optimize complex data systems leveraging deep, hands-on Oracle and PostgreSQL database experience.
• Technical Leadership & Strategy: Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise from project inception to conclusion, aligning technical standards and frameworks with overall business strategy.
• System Optimization & Analysis: Identify design gaps in existing and proposed architectures, providing detailed evaluations and recommendations to ensure stability, interoperability, portability, and scalability.
• Consultative Guidance: Consult directly with clients to define needs, supervise studies, and lead data analysis surveys to solve mission-critical challenges and supervise project staff.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years of professional experience in enterprise architecture, software/database engineering, or related technical fields (equivalent certifications or specialized past work may substitute).
• Active Top-Secret clearance.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• 7–9 years of professional experience in enterprise architecture, software/database engineering, or related technical fields (equivalent certifications or specialized past work may substitute).

Security Clearance Required: Active Top-Secret clearance

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline
• In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements

Minimum Years of Experience:

• Minimum of 9 years of experience with 7 years of related technical specialized experience

Preferred Qualifications: AI if applicable to your program

• Development Tools:
  • Git source version control
  • Java/Java script development
  • Experience with Python, Cloud Formations and Terraform
  • AWS DevOps project management
  • Static Application Security Testing (SAST, e.g. SonarQube, Gitlab SAST)
  • Unit and integration testing (e.g., xunit, nunit)
  • Automated testing
  • End-to-end testing (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber)

• Platforms:
  o Attribute and role-based access control paradigms (ABAC/RBAC)
  o Windows Service Fabric
  o Splunk administration
  o Windows server administration
• Data:
  o Postgres and Oracle database experience
• Business Analysis and Project Management:
  o Agile Principles
  o AWS DevOps

• Strong Oral and written communication
• Ability to work with and lead teams
• Experience with interacting and presenting to Government Leadership
