Senior Engineering Manager

• Manage multiple engineering teams and/or other engineering managers

• Have a engineering first mentality, foster a high performing engineering culture

• Understand enterprise wide system architecture and facilitate making design decisions

• Own your teams' delivery and outcome

• Take pride in your teams' solutions and in hitting delivery targets

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product managers, UX designers and other engineers to produce thoughtful software designs with considerable scope and high complexity

• Responsible for guarding, promoting, and establishing best practices

• Be comfortable presenting your ideas to senior leadership and challenge the status quo

• Be comfortable designing systems and writing clean functional code as necessary

• Assist with project estimation, planning and progress

• Communicate clearly and promptly when work hits roadblocks or risks arise that must be managed

• Coach and help engineers and engineering leaders grow

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• Experienced manager of managers, you take ownership of issues, work to find solutions, and collaborate well with team members and cross-functional groups

• Experience leading software development teams through multiple product/platform releases

• Experience making significant individual contributions as a Senior Engineer to real-world software development

• Experience interface with other project stakeholders to ensure the system objectives are balanced with overall project objectives

• Provide product design leadership for the project team, including ongoing design and implementation review

• Experience development and delivery at a large scale

• Experience building scalable, available, and low-latency cloud-native systems

• Experience in using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot

• Experience with messaging systems (pub/sub-queues, request/response) and data streaming

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: $167,000 - $249,000
