As a hands-on and execution-focused engineering manager, you will lead a team that plays a crucial role for our Pricing partner experience. You’ll guide the team in solving complex technical and business cost and pricing problems while fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for helping your team succeed by setting clear expectations, driving delivery, mentoring and coaching engineers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners. This is a highly impactful role for a driven leader who thrives on empowering others, removing blockers, and rolling up their sleeves when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-On Technical Leadership: Lead by example by staying close to the code and architecture. Actively contribute when needed while guiding implementation with strong technical instincts.
  • AI driven SDLC: Have heavy involvement in AI-driven SDLC approach (including requirements gathering, engineering discovery, tech design, coding, QA) to increase velocity of outputs from the team.  
  • Execution & Delivery: Be relentlessly focused on helping your team deliver quality outcomes at speed. Spot execution gaps early and guide the team to course-correct. You take pride in delivering results.
  • People Management & Coaching: Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Encourage the team to use AI tools and ensure that Ensure each team member has the context, support, and feedback needed to grow and succeed. No one should be surprised by performance reviews.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Own recruiting, onboarding, and professional development for your team, ensuring we attract and retain top-tier engineering talent.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive initiatives that improve reliability, performance, and scalability. Ensure team output aligns with business goals and timelines.
  • Collaborative Strategy: Partner effectively with product, design, and leadership to maintain alignment, define roadmaps, and shape the customer experience.
  • Guide Innovation: Encourage the adoption of modern technologies, tools, and best practices that improve engineering velocity and product quality.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in software development
  • At least 2 years of experience and a proven track record leading software development teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
  • Experience with a marketplace product is highly desired.
  • Strong technical expertise. You will need to either have or quickly build technical expertise in the following:
    • Python
    • Frontend web technologies including HTML/DOM/CSS, React, and Typescript.
    • Preferable Rust
    • Postgres, MongoDB
    • Cloud hosting services, especially AWS
    • Containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, from executives to product managers and a wide variety of stakeholders and contributors
  • Excellent leadership, execution, and communication skills

The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $126,000- $230,000 annually + annual bonus depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
