Team missionWe are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager for Ontrip (Zurich) to guide people, drive technical decisions with customer impact along with the wider business stakeholders.
Ontrip is part of the wider Consumer / FinTech domain and consists of three teams:
Goal: Creating a loyal customer base by exceeding travelers expectations with a stress free and delightful post-purchase experience.
- Fulfillment: Focusing on the post-booking experience and enhancing the on-trip customer experience (ie. meeting points / pickups / vouchers).
- Channel Experience: Focusing on the ability to make it easy to get help and self-service resolution (ie. rescheduling / weather swap / AI-powered assistance).
- Care Platform: Focusing on step-changing out internal tooling for Customer Service (ie. internal tooling, AI-powered triaging, automation).
Directly manage 2 Engineering Managers plus 3 engineers in Zurich and will be part of the cross functional leadership team for the domain together with Product and Design. We are building out this new domain in 2025 and you will help in that process.
This role reports to the Director of Engineering for Consumer and we divide engineering leadership responsibility into the following areas:
- Business Impact: Clear business metrics and working towards ambitious goals
- Strategic Leadership: Short/mid/long term vision and collaboration with stakeholders
- Team Leadership: Engaged teams with the right people and high talent density
- Personal Leadership: Role modeling of the company Guiding Principles
- Prior experience managing and mentoring engineering managers
- Willingness for short quarterly business travel to visit Berlin based teams
- Passionate about business results and people not just technical excellence
- Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Prior experience on the Fintech side of an ecommerce marketplace
- Prior experience partner with Customer Service business functions
- Prior experience in a scale-up environment
