We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Platform team—the group responsible for the foundations that power Homebase’s iOS and Android experiences. This role is critical to our strategy to Make Mobile Magical and to our longer-term transition toward an AI-driven, agentic mobile experience.

You’ll lead managers and senior ICs building shared mobile infrastructure, frameworks, developer experience, and AI-enabled capabilities that accelerate product teams and raise quality, velocity, and reliability across the entire mobile surface area. You’ll operate as a true systems thinker: balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform leverage, while staying close to the code, the data, and the people.

These are the key ways you’ll create impact in this role:

  • Lead and grow the Mobile Platform team, including senior engineers and/or engineering managers, with a focus on high standards, clarity, and sustainable velocity.

  • Define and evolve the mobile platform strategy across iOS and Android, including shared architecture, tooling, CI/CD, testing frameworks, release processes, and performance foundations.

  • Partner closely with Mobile Product, Design, Data, and AI teams to enable faster experimentation and delivery of customer-facing features.

  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted development workflows across mobile engineering (e.g., code generation, testing, debugging, release validation), measuring impact on quality and speed.

  • Ensure mobile foundations support Homebase’s transition toward agentic, AI-powered mobile experiences.

  • Stay close to the details—reviewing designs, unblocking complex technical challenges, and helping teams make high-quality decisions quickly.

  • Build strong in-office collaboration habits that strengthen trust, learning, and execution across hubs.

🚀 The Foundation for Success - These are the experiences and strengths that will set you up for success in this role:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant depth in mobile (iOS and/or Android) and platform or infrastructure-style teams.

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, including managing senior engineers and/or managers.

  • Proven experience building shared platforms, frameworks, or developer tooling that scales across multiple product teams.

  • Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment, especially in fast-moving product environments.

  • Clear, direct communicator who balances empathy with decisiveness.

  • 🤖 AI Fluency (Required)

    • Demonstrated ability to retool team workflows using AI and automation, with clear examples of measured impact (speed, quality, or reliability).

    • Enable your teams to use AI tools as part of their daily mobile development workflows.

    • Coach engineers and managers on where AI meaningfully improves velocity, quality, and learning.

    • Set expectations and metrics around AI-enabled productivity gains at the team level.

    • Partner with other leaders to shape Homebase’s evolving AI development standards.
