Job Details and Responsibilities
Join Salesforce as a Senior Manager in Data Cloud Engineering. Lead and inspire a team of seasoned engineers to design and implement cloud-based infrastructure for Salesforce’s next-gen Data Cloud platform. Your role will involve:
- Driving innovation and efficiency in an agile environment.
- Overseeing development projects, creating enterprise architecture designs, and managing transition strategies.
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams to enhance software delivery.
- Working with tools like Istio, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and AWS.
- Automating processes and optimizing infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
The platform helps companies unify customer data, manage identity and consent, segment and activate audiences, and optimize engagement with insights. You'll work on large-scale services across data ingestion, big data management, storage, processing, analytics, profile graphs, segmentation, and activations. Teams are dev/ops focused, handling everything from development to production and support.
You'll collaborate with product and engineering teams, including Agentforce and AI initiatives, to find infrastructure solutions that speed up software delivery. This includes working with tools like Istio, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and AWS, creating automation, designing data store architectures, and enhancing security.

Required Skills
BS/MS degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related discipline

10+ years of hands on software development experience

5+ years managing development or mixed engineering teams

Experience scaling and managing 20+ person teams

Experience in Public Cloud Environment is a must

Experience growing high performing engineering teams

Experience managing geographically distributed teams

Experience in a Linux based systems

Prior experience in any of the following languages: Java, C#, Ruby, Scala, Python

Experience with Agile Development Methodologies and Test-Driven Development

Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective networks and leverage them appropriately

Experienced in recruiting, building and managing high performing teams, including performance reviews, salary administration, and career development

Proved technological experience with software-based infrastructure in the cloud, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, GCE, CoreOS

Experience with container orchestration systems Kubernetes, Docker

Experience with open source projects like Spinnaker, Kafka, Splunk, HBase and Machine Learning (ML) platforms

Experience using SQL and/or NoSQL datastores e.g. MongoDB, MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc

Experience with version control systems (Github, SVN, Perforce, etc.) and deployment & CI tools
