Our organization's mission is to create the digital heart of Woven City: a software platform called "Agora". All digitally connected services in the city will be orchestrated and delivered on this platform. The vision includes creating state-of-the-art systems for incorporating microservices, identity, authentication, privacy, security, data broking, IoT control, and much more. The Infrastructure team is responsible for this platform's cloud infrastructure, creating a solid foundation that enables smooth service development.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for someone who not only has a strong technical background but also has exceptional leadership, management, and communication skills. You are passionate about transforming the world into a better place and are eager to make enormous impacts on the future.
As a Senior Engineering Manager of the Infrastructure team, you will oversee the team's mission to design, build, manage, and maintain a unified cloud development environment for the Woven City organization. You will manage teams that always seek to improve developer experience and ensure code quality. You will think outside the box, exploring and experimenting with emerging technologies to solve complex problems. You will lay the foundations for inventors to smoothly realize their visions in the city of the future.
This role's workplace type is hybrid.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will spearhead the management and growth of the Infrastructure team, including CI/CD, SRE, and QA divisions
- You will balance the priorities of the organization with feedback from partners to set team direction and goals
- You will participate in the design, implementation, administration and management of infrastructural systems, such as development pipelines, Github organization, disaster recovery, and quality assurance
- You will provide cross-organizational guidance on development practices throughout complete software development lifecycles, including architectural and code reviews
- You will conduct and organize cross-cutting initiatives across the organization, fostering collaboration and resolving blockers
- You will guide personal and professional growth of your team members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- 7 + years of software development, including at least 3 years in engineering management with track records in assembling teams to drive new initiatives
- Experience in modern engineering technologies:
- Programming languages such as Go, Rust, Python
- Cloud technologies such as AWS, Istio, K8s, and Grafana
- CI/CD toolings such as Github, Docker, and Github Actions
- Experience with operating highly available and resilient large-scale production systems
- Ability to strive both independently and collaboratively
- Business level communication skills in verbal and written English
NICE TO HAVES
- Professional experience with modern Infrastructure As Code (IAC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tooling, such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Flux CD, and Argo CD
- Professional Experience or familiarity with Bazel
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields
- 10+ years of software development or management experience
- Japanese language skills
