Wallace Montgomery is searching for a part-time Senior Engineer to join our Planning department in the Newark, Delaware office. Senior Engineers provide design of projects and major tasks within projects. They identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems that arise during the development and execution of projects. They apply engineering principals and standards, at a high level, for development of studies, designs, construction documents and oversight of construction activities.
Essential Functions:
- Preparation of engineering design studies and reports.
- Assume increased responsibility in the preparation of construction design documents, including design details, construction drawings, specifications and estimates.
- Manage selected projects.
- Participate in presentations such as public meetings.
- Monitor work performed and all client requests for work and identify work tasks that are outside approved scope of work.
- Oversee project schedules and budgets. Initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Determine appropriate application of technical methods of the work and verify compliance with client’s criteria.
- Assist in the coordination of subconsultant activities
- Perform/monitor project filing and archiving to ensure project records are maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Provide training and guidance to others.
- Monitor current design trends/methodologies related to their area of expertise to ensure that the company remains up to date with software, training needs and similar issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree Required or Equivalent Experience
- Professional Engineer Registration required (DE or ability to get reciprocity preferred)
- 8 years minimum Design Experience preferred
