We're seeking a Lead Engineer to be a "force multiplier" for our AI Insights team. This isn't a role for a ticket-taker; it's for a pragmatic and visionary leader who will guide a high-performing team at the forefront of the AI engineering revolution. You will be instrumental in shaping our product roadmap, mentoring a talented team, and building the tools that enable enterprises to adopt AI with a secure-by-design approach. In this role you will:
- Lead and empower a team of engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
- Drive the technical and architectural direction for our AI Insights product, making key decisions for systems built with Go, TypeScript, and React on Kubernetes.
- Act as a key partner in shaping our product roadmap and run essential team rituals like stand-ups and sprint planning to ensure the team is aligned and unblocked.
- Mentor and coach engineers, elevating the entire team's capabilities through thoughtful code reviews, architectural guidance, and your own high-impact, hands-on contributions.
- Champion the strategic adoption of advanced AI tools and modern engineering practices, bridging the gap between SRE principles and software development.
- Solve complex, ambiguous problems in the evolving AI security landscape, taking ideas from research and discovery through to production.
Who you are:
- A seasoned engineer (7+ years) with a background in engineering, and a clear drive to be a leader in the AI development space.
- A high-performing, all-around engineer with a deep specialty in one of Go, TypeScript, or React, and broad, practical experience across the stack.
- A power user of modern AI coding tools. You're well-versed in Cursor, GitHub Copilot (Agent Mode), or Cline and have likely experimented with headless agents like Claude Code or Gemini CLI.
- You understand how modern web applications deliver AI experiences, with knowledge of Server-Sent Events (SSEs) and the difference between HTTP/1 and HTTP/2.
- A natural "force multiplier" who finds satisfaction in making your team more effective, not just in your own output.
- An excellent communicator and pragmatic leader who thrives on taking ownership, building consensus, and driving projects to completion.
