Job Description:
Are you passionate about solving complex technical problems and bringing innovative products to life? We are seeking an experienced Tools Software engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and develop innovative software tools and applications for powertrain controls engineering support. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software tools that support and enhance the functionality of our products, thus providing the most reliable and valued propulsion solutions in the world to enable our customers to work more efficiently. From the low-level hardware interactions to the high-level software architecture, you will be instrumental in defining the software stack for new and existing tools. You will also have the satisfaction of utilizing your experiences to train & develop less senior engineers and provide guidance & reviews to maintain software quality.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test and document software tools to assist with Powertrain applications.
- Perform functional and unit testing, system validation, automated testing, and requirement to test traceability.
- Work with in cross-functional engineering teams of Systems, Algorithm, Calibration and Validation engineers to develop existing and new products.
- Develop software designs and design documentation.
- Implement software to meet functional requirements.
- Analyze software behavior to find root cause for unexpected or unacceptable operation.
- Describe & present work results to peers and managers as needed.
- Conduct reviews of software engineering work.
- Archive work products to document process compliance and for future maintenance needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required Education:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience with high level software languages such as C#/Delphi Pascal/Rust
- Interest in software tools and application development
Preferred Experience:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Technical leadership/supervisory experience
- Experience with software version control & change management.
- Experience with software quality processes & tools, such as CMMI, SPICE and AUTOSAR.
- Experience with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio or Eclipse.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols, automotive calibrations & vehicle electronic programming stations (VEPS).
