As a Senior Engineer – Resource Utilization, you will play a key role in supporting MISO’s generation interconnection process through power system analysis studies. In this role, you’ll collaborate with interconnection customers and transmission owners, contribute to process improvements, manage project workstreams, and take ownership of key processes that help drive efficient and reliable grid expansion.

Within your first year as our Senior Engineer - Resource Utilization, you will know you are successful if you:

  • Effectively administer simulations and technical analyses effectively.
  • Prepare and deliver relevant communications and data to our customers.
  • Make meaningful contributions to our already highly functional team.

Our Senior Engineer - Resource Utilization requires:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in one of several engineering disciplines (see qualifying degrees below).
  • At least four (4) years’ experience related to power system planning, operations experience, or related field.

While not required, it would be advantageous to possess:

  • Specific experience within any of the following: PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT, and VSAT.
  • Previous energy industry experience.

The appropriate level will be determined based on experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $124,000-$149,000 USD annually.  Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience. 

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.  At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
