Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Golang to design, build, and scale high‑performance backend and mid‑tier services. The role focuses on developing cloud‑native, API‑driven platforms using Golang as the primary language, complemented by Java and Python for multi‑service ecosystems. This engineer will play a key role in enabling performant, resilient systems while collaborating closely with product, frontend, and platform teams in an agile environment. Shape Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend and mid‑tier services using Golang as the primary language. Build scalable, secure, and high‑throughput RESTful and event‑driven APIs for enterprise platforms. Contribute to backend services written in Java and Python, supporting interoperability across systems. Develop microservices and middleware components that enable seamless integration across internal and external systems. Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions. Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, performance tuning, and observability. Participate in system design discussions, contributing to architecture, scalability, and resilience decisions. Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations with a strong ownership mindset. Shape Required Skills & Experience 6–10+ years of backend or platform engineering experience in enterprise or product‑driven environments. Strong hands‑on expertise in Golang, with real‑world experience building production‑grade services. Solid experience with Java and/or Python for backend or mid‑tier development. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and API design. Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB). Hands‑on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices. Strong problem‑solving skills, communication, and ability to work across teams and geographies. Shape Nice‑to‑Have Skills Experience building high‑throughput or low‑latency systems using Golang. Knowledge of event streaming and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub). Experience with service mesh, API gateways, and observability tools. Exposure to security best practices, authentication, and authorization patterns. Prior experience in product‑led, hyper‑growth, or platform modernization programs.
