Senior Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineer Connected Car
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and perform End-2-End Testing for Connected Car services in close collaboration with local and international suppliers and stakeholders.
- Lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of functional test cases and test scripts.
- Support the planning, organization, and execution of test sessions with local and global teams (prioritization, support capacity planning, coverage analysis, risk mitigation,…).
- Document findings, manages/track defects, and re-run failed test cases or scripts in accordance with customer requests.
- Management of test data and component variants in cooperation with the release management and CFOs.
- Provide support and review of supplier-driven or third party testing results.
- Provide prescribed reports and maintain effective communication to all relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinates between offboard and onboard telematics testing to ensure a continues efficiency improvement.
- Takes initiative to identify, communicate, and execute significant high-impact changes or improvements.
- Planning and supporting mostly local and occasional long distance test drives.
- Instruct and mentor junior engineers on technical and testing related tasks.
- Driving Mercedes-Benz prototype vehicles is a regular function for this position.
- Note that upon hire, this position will work from the MBRDNA Technical Center in Long Beach, CA. As noted, the position will relocate to Atlanta, GA in July 2026. After which, it is expected that this position will require 10-15% of domestic travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering consider; Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field of study required.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in the development or validation of embedded systems in the automotive.
- Ability to understand software and hardware requirements and vehicle architectures.
- Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and their functions.
- Experience in updating ECU’s as well as vehicle diagnostics and related tools.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and without regular management support to determine tasks, priorities and focus.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Voice Recognition and User Interface (UI) concepts and implementation across all applications.
- Able to work from Long Beach, CA and relocate to Atlanta, GA in July 2026.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Frequent use of speech, vision, hearing, use of hands for computer use, driving and presentations.
- Frequent sitting, standing and reaching with hands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier work experience
- Background in HMI, Voice Recognition, and User Interface
- Understanding of cloud API integration, including the use of tools for interacting with and verifying API functionality
- Scripting and automation skills to enhance operational efficiency under high-demand
- Strong technical knowledge of Mercedes-Benz vehicles
- Familiarity with online/offline voice recognition methodology, architecture, and speech engines
- ISTQB Testing certification
