Search is on for creative tech savvy Engineers to join Dyson’s Global Test Development Team, in order to keep pace with Dyson’s ambition for incremental growth in product categories and product range in the coming years.
The right candidate can be excited with prospects of being able to develop, in conjunction with R&D Engineers and/or Technology Partners, test methodologies that are deployed to stress test new product designs, product offerings, fulfilling a desire to ensure delivery of a robust and quality product to consumers and, at the same time drive continuous improvements to existing methodologies, keeping pace with automation technologies.
To do so, the candidate must be self-directed, comfortable with working across development teams & product offerings and be unafraid of getting their hands dirty.
About the Role
Support the interrogation and development of
Product Requirements Document(s) (PRD)
Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Defined Product User and Usage Profiles
Scrutinize design specifications with a view to formulate test procedure(s) and acceptance criteria, required for development of robust and efficient product verification strategies, adopting verification tests / test methods that conform to international standards (IEC, ASTM, QB/T, etc) wherever possible.
Is knowledgeable of various test environment and internal/external automatic testing tools to ensure that requirements are implemented correctly.
Independently design and develop prototype jigs and fixtures / test apparatus, using CAD and/or analysis methodologies, in support of developed methods.
Oversee the manufacturing process for the device, where necessary.
Test and/or troubleshoot the developed prototype jig / fixture / test apparatus for conformance to build specifications and functionality
Investigate failures to installed test jigs & fixtures / test apparatus, diagnosing faults and recommending remedial actions.
Follow through on the transition of developed methods to Test Operations, analyzing initial test results and adjusting the design of the test system as needed.
Supporting investigations into test fallouts and assist with the dissemination of failure reports to requirement owners for follow-up.
In the absence of internal test capabilities, be responsible for sourcing of external laboratories to support the product verification strategy
Responsible for maintaining traceability among various level of requirements, test protocol/script, test report/record.
About You
Technical:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences and/or Engineering
3-5 years’ experience with development of product verification test methods from regulated or consumer electronic industries are plus factors
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and be able to convey information or ideas at a technical level.
Ability to apply mathematical principles and/or make use of statistical to report on test performance.
Experience with CAD applications will be helpful in the realization of test systems design / development
Ability to code is a plus

Must thrive on managing projects, independently, in a cross disciplinary team environment, with high degrees of ambiguity.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, required to enable translation and communication of complex technical information, lead technical reviews / presentations to Stakeholders (ie Category / Project / Research / Design / Claims / Legal Teams, Heads of Departments, etc).
Able to quickly adapt thinking and behavior, actioning to changing requirements and situations.
Able to develop clear, efficient, logical approaches to solving technical problems and drive implementation of appropriate design/process changes.
An innate ability to think out of the box a plus.
