Brief Job Description:

We are seeking senior applications engineers who have experience or educational background in power electronics circuit evaluation and design. Your immediate responsibilities will include design, development, evaluation, and optimization of reference power designs for multi-market power that focuses on Functional safety compliant systems.

The goal for the reference design is to provide customers the blueprint in designing the best-in-class power system solution, that are validated, and evaluated in accordance with the system and functional safety requirements. You will also work with the best field applications engineers in the industry developing and supporting state of the art circuit designs and power systems.

 Job Responsibilities

  • You will work with the field applications, field sales and business units on defining the system requirement and architecture.
  • You will design and build the reference power system design that adheres to the specified performance, reliability, BOM cost and target functional safety compliance.
  • You will develop safety concepts and safety plans in relation with the reference design you are building and Functional safety compliance.
  • You will test and validate the reference design to ensure it is within the system specifications.
  • You will write application notes and conduct training on the reference designs for sales enablement.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Electronics or Electrical Engineering. MS Engineering degree is an advantage.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Knowledgeable in Functional Safety systems (IEC61508) is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 4 yrs. Industry experience on Power Electronics with strong analog and digital electronics foundation
  • Strong theoretical knowledge on power electronics with background on low drop-out linear regulators and different SMPS topologies such as Buck, Boost, Forward, Fly-back and other derived DC-DC converter topologies is an advantage.
  • Knowledge on analog signal chain such as data converters, amplifiers, etc. is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with systematic approach in solving complex problems.
  • Knowledge in handling and using wide range of bench equipment is preferrable (power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, multimeters, etc.).
  • Familiarity with circuit simulator and design tools is preferable (such as LTSpice, Simplis/Simetrix, MATLAB, Simulink, LTPowerCAD).
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for PCB development is an advantage (e.g., Cadence Allegro, PADS, or any other equivalent PCB design tool).
  • Software development background is an advantage.
