Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
- Verify reported failures (electrical and/or visual) through failure analysis processes such as Non-destructive analysis (optical inspection, X-Ray inspection, acoustic microscopy)
- Electrical Verification (curve trace, bench test, Automated Test Equipment)
- Determine physical defect (failure mechanism) through physical analysis (i.e. decapsulation, fault isolation, delayering, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Focused Ion Beam, etc.) on Analog Devices (Legacy Maxim) devices submitted for failure analysis from:
- Customer returns
- Analog Devices (Legacy Maxim products) production line failures
- Reliability test failures
- Correlate the failure mechanism (i.e. physical defect) to the reported failure mode (i.e. electrical behavior).
- Publish a Failure Analysis report summarizing the results of the analysis and whenever necessary, initiate corrective action requests on cases with identified defects to improve quality and reliability.
- Meet failure analysis cycle time and quality commitments
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders and requestors regarding the status of ongoing analysis projects
- Perform laboratory roles and responsibilities assigned by management
- Collaborate with technical experts from cross-functional engineering teams
- Attend relevant training, seminars, and symposium (local and international) for individual development.
Requirements:
- BS in Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering (major in Electronics or Microelectronics)
- Strong technical understanding of how passive components, diode, transistor, and operational amplifier works
- Ability to use basic electronic test and measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes; power supplies; multimeters; function generators;
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to comprehend circuit schematics (wafer or board level).
- Background in semiconductor wafer fabrication, assembly, test, and design is a plus.
- Knowledge of Analog / Digital circuitry and mixed signals is a plus
- Chemistry lab experience is a plus
