Roles and Responsibilities
You will work with engineering, product and service leaders across GE Vernova to identify electrical and grid technology needs. You will work with researchers across GE Vernova Advanced Research center to identify technology trends with disruption potential for GE Vernova. You will identify strategic partners and create an electrical systems technology roadmap. You will work with business partners to define strategy and then lead and contribute to drive breakthrough impact to GE Vernova businesses. You will collaborate with these key partners and executives as well as with external partners to:
- Build a robust portfolio of Research programs to drive the Electrification strategy for GE Vernova with programs in engineering across GE Vernova.
- Lead and deliver early-stage technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction.
- Coordinate disruptive technology efforts in close collaboration with our GEV businesses and ensure that such efforts are incorporated into long-term multi-generational technology and product roadmaps and plans.
- Lead and deliver demonstrations of new technology development in the lab to internal and external customers.
- Understand and contribute to technology and product roadmaps to ensure our businesses have a multi-year strategic plan that is competitive.
- Contribute to the GE Vernova wide electrification, renewables and power strategy for safety, quality and productivity. Work with each business to identify priorities and strategies.
- Provide deep technical leadership across GE Vernova on disruptive technologies and market trends with a strong understanding of competition.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering – Power Systems or related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience or Masters in Electrical Engineering – Power Systems with a minimum of 14 years of experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in deploying electrical systems to business and production environments and leading technical teams and delivering large projects
- Demonstrated deep domain knowledge in electrical power systems including power system operation, control, protection, dispatch, optimization, ancillary and real time market operation, forecast, planning, dynamics, transients, faults, arc flash, harmonics, balance of plant, generators and excitation systems etc.
- Hands-on experience in lab scale development, testing and validation of power system hardware like, controllers, relays, simulation software like, PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink, DigSilent, Python, C++, Visual Studio etc., hardware in the loop, with demonstrated ability to scale to field implementation
- Experience leading and contributing to large research programs, writing successful R&D proposals, and demonstrated ability to take an idea from concept to a product.

- Awareness of technology in related fields such as Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Prime Movers, AI/Machine Learning, Cyber security etc.
- Shown ability to manage risk and uncertainty for self and team within a dynamic priority-setting environment. Ability to make decisions with confidence when problems or solutions are not well defined
- Strong record of peer-reviewed journal publications and conference presentations
