Job DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned Project Planning/Project Controls Engineer to lead schedule and cost controls across complex infrastructure and buildings programs.You will shape robust baselines, drive project performance, and provide clear insights that help our clients make confident decisions.
- Ensure project schedules comply with RTA specifications, guidelines, and standard work breakdown structures (WBS) for roads, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate planning activities in line with RTA approval procedures, including interim milestones, traffic staging, and sectional handover requirements.
- Monitor and integrate RTA authority approvals (NOCs, permits, traffic diversion approvals, utility coordination) into the project schedule.
- Review and assess contractors’ programs against RTA contractual milestones, key performance indicators (KPIs), and phasing requirements.
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed project schedules (baseline, recovery, and revised programs) using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
- Prepare master schedules, look-ahead programs, and weekly/monthly progress reports in coordination with project teams.
- Monitor project progress against the approved baseline and identify delays, risks, and critical path impacts.
- Perform schedule risk analysis, delay analysis, and time impact analysis (TIA) in accordance with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with construction, procurement, design, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between schedule, resources, and deliverables.
- Review contractors’ planning submissions, method statements, and manpower histograms for compliance with contract specifications.
- Support the Project Manager/Resident Engineer by providing planning inputs for decision-making and corrective actions.
- Prepare and evaluate EOT (Extension of Time) claims, substantiating delays with proper planning narratives and evidence.
- Track procurement, long-lead items, approvals, and permits to ensure schedule compliance.
- Develop recovery and mitigation plans to bring delayed activities back on track.
- Conduct weekly and monthly planning meetings with stakeholders and issue meeting minutes related to schedule actions.
- Ensure integration of cost, cash flow, and resource-loaded schedules where required.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure planning records comply with project controls and QA/QC procedures.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior planning engineers and site planners.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities on all schedule-related matters.
- Support project close-out by preparing as-built programs and final planning reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Senior planning/controls role requiring 15+ years’ experience, strong base cost and standard planning capability, consultancy and local market experience, and a proven track record across infrastructure and buildings.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, cost control, EVM, risk analysis, and executive‑quality reporting is essential.
- Client‑facing leadership, clear communication, and rigorous governance will be central to success.
