The Role
About this opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer - OSS with strong expertise in VM-based cloud environments, Linux platforms, and operational support systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with RHEL/CentOS, OpenStack, cloud infrastructure, container technologies, and network fabric technologies (Cisco, HP, Samsung environments).
The role involves managing cloud operations, ensuring SLA compliance, troubleshooting critical issues, and supporting infrastructure scalability for Ericsson OSS platforms.
What you will do:
  • Manage daily operations of VM-based cloud environments (RHEL/CentOS, OpenStack) and handle system configurations/PM files on Samsung Cloud environments.
  • Analyze cloud log files on a daily/weekly basis for Samsung VM environments and implement preventive actions.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure availability and compliance with SLAs while performing capacity management (scale-in/out, vertical/horizontal).
  • Work extensively on HP ProLiant servers using KVM hypervisor for virtualization operations.
  • Perform fault correlation, impact analysis, and root cause analysis to proactively resolve cloud platform issues.

Network & Fabric Operations
  • Manage and support data center network fabrics across Cisco, HP, and Samsung environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers (L2/L3), including VLANs, VRFs, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), and network segmentation.
  • Work with HP networking (Aruba/ProCurve) for switching, fabric configuration, and performance optimization.
  • Handle Samsung cloud/network fabric components, ensuring seamless integration with OSS platforms.
  • Perform network troubleshooting, packet analysis, and traffic flow validation across fabric layers.
  • Ensure high availability and redundancy using load balancing, link aggregation (LACP), and failover mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain end-to-end network performance and reliability.

Linux, Containers & Platform Management:
  • Manage Linux system administration tasks including users, permissions, SELinux, systemd, networking, and firewall configurations.
  • Work with Docker/Podman for container lifecycle management, including images, registries, networking, and deployments.
  • Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift components such as projects, quotas, RBAC, service accounts, SDN, ingress/egress, load balancers, and NetworkPolicies.
  • Handle storage operations including PV, PVC, dynamic provisioning, storage classes, and app deployments using Helm, Operators, templates, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Use Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK/ELK stack for monitoring, logging, alerting, and proactive performance optimization.

The skills you bring:
  • 8-12 years of experience in OSS, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or network fabric management.
  • Strong command over RHEL & CentOS Linux distributions.
  • Hands-on experience with VM-based cloud environments and operational maintenance.
  • Good understanding of OpenStack (certification is an added advantage).
  • Experience with HP ProLiant servers and KVM hypervisors.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco networking (routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs).
  • Experience with HP/Aruba networking solutions and data center fabric architectures.
  • Exposure to Samsung cloud/network environments or telecom infrastructure is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of Docker/Podman and container-based ecosystems.
  • Practical understanding of Kubernetes/OpenShift, RBAC, projects, storage, and deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/ELK.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts, SDN, ingress/egress, load balancing, and fabric design principles.
