Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM). We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.

Time-to-market is one of the key priorities for a competitive FPGA product development. This position is within the R&D software development team working in the area of creating a modern eco-system to facilitate the transfer of data, models, and FPGA design information into the world of Software in support of internal and external customers.

Microchip Technology Inc. has a Senior Engineer II-Software opening. The successful candidate is expected to use their technical skills and experience to design and develop efficient, accurate, and elegant cutting edge software solutions to fully automate the transition from design to software. The task will ultimately evolve into issuing recommendations and rule checking tools to establish a software-driven FPGA product design.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

  • 7+ years of experience in a related field

  • Strong knowledge in C++, as well as a deep understanding of algorithms and data structures

  • Experience with shell scripting languages (Python, Bash, TCL)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with source code management systems (Git, bitbucket, Jira)

  • Exposure to parallel programming techniques, like TBB

  • Familiarity/knowledge/experience with any of the following would be a plus: FPGA architectures, AI/ML-driven applications

Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $205,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
