Job Description:

The Senior Engineer I - Product position is responsible for leading and coordinating the introduction of new products into manufacturing. This role ensures that new products are designed for manufacturability, meet quality standards, and are launched on time and within budget. The New Product Introduction Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to facilitate smooth product transitions from development to full-scale manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support NPI projects from concept through production ramp-up, ensuring all deliverables and requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, work instructions, and test procedures for new products.
  • Coordinate prototype builds, pilot runs, and initial production launches.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing issues, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Work with suppliers to source new materials, components, and tooling required for new products.
  • Conduct risk assessments, FMEAs, and process validations for new product lines.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide training and support to production staff on new products and processes.
  • Track and report project status, timelines, and key performance indicators to stakeholders.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, product development, or NPI roles.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with CAD software, ERP systems, and project management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a regulated industry of electronic devices (e.g., medical devices, automotive, defense, aerospace).
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
