Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities / Duties:
Support and Guide: Offer technical support and guidance to analytics team members, encouraging skill development and knowledge sharing. Assist junior and mid-level staff with best practices in Power BI development, data modelling, and platform administration.
Platform Stewardship: Act as a key contributor and SME for the Power BI platform, establishing standards, best practices and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with non-technical business leaders to drive the migration to Power BI from legacy platforms (e.g., Crystal Reports), ensuring a smooth transition and high user adoption.
Data Optimization Leadership: Architect and oversee the implementation of optimized, scalable, and secure data sets and dashboards, collaborating with business and technology teams to resolve complex issues.
Project Leadership: Lead analytics projects from conception through delivery, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
Platform Administration: Oversee and continuously improve Power BI administration, including:
Managing Power BI service and enterprise data gateway
Overseeing user, group, and Active Directory integration
Automating and monitoring platform management activities
Managing Power BI premium capacity and deployment pipelines
Governance and Best Practices: Establish and enforce governance, security, and compliance standards for Power BI usage across the organization.
Training and Enablement: Develop and deliver training programs for business users and technical staff, empowering teams to maximize the value of Power BI and related analytics tools.
Experience / Knowledge:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in analytics, with at least 4 years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including platform administration and solution architecture.
Demonstrated expertise in building, optimizing, and managing complex Power BI dashboards and data models.
Experience leading migrations from other BI tools to Power BI, including training and supporting non-technical users.
Advanced knowledge of relational databases, dimensional data modelling, SQL, data warehousing, and dashboard design.
Proven experience with Power BI administration, including security roles, scheduling, subscriptions, and user/group management.
Experience with Power BI Report Builder for pixel-perfect reporting.
Familiarity with Power Automate, Tableau, and/or Alteryx is a plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience training and mentoring both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with AWS Cloud (S3, Aurora, Athena, RDS), Snowflake, and working in Agile & DevSecOps environments.
Prior experience in the Asset Management industry is a plus.
Demonstrated success working as part of a global and/or remote team.
Formal Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience
