Job DescriptionSupervise and inspect all electrical works related to infrastructure projects, including LV/HV networks, street lighting, power distribution, telecom ducts, and associated works.
Review and provide comments/approval on electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements in accordance with project specifications and authority requirements.
Ensure compliance with DEWA, Etisalat, DU, RTA, DM, and other authority standards.
Coordinate with the contractor and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution of electrical works in line with civil and mechanical construction activities.
Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure adherence to design and quality standards.
Review as-built drawings and verify field conditions in coordination with site inspectors.
Participate in technical meetings, authority inspections, and coordination workshops related to electrical utilities and networks.
Supervise and verify cable routing, trenching, ducting, and manhole installations for compliance with approved drawings.
Check and witness electrical testing procedures, including insulation resistance, continuity, and load tests.
Monitor contractor’s performance and progress against approved schedules.
Ensure that health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements are followed during all electrical works.
Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs), and ensure corrective actions are implemented by the contractor.
Assist in the review of NOC drawings, authority submissions, and follow-up on approval status.
Support the Resident Engineer in evaluating contractor’s technical queries and design change requests.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports highlighting work status, delays, and inspection results.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of electrical inspections, tests, and approvals.
Assist in final inspection and authority handover procedures related to electrical networks.
Coordinate shutdown procedures for existing electrical services and ensure safe reconnection upon completion.
Review and verify contractor’s as-built documentation prior to project closeout.
Maintain effective communication with the client, contractor, and authority representatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical supervision for road and infrastructure projects within the UAE.
- Proven ability to oversee installation and testing of electrical systems for street lighting, traffic signals, and related works.
- Familiarity with UAE electrical codes and standards (DEWA, ADDC, RTA).
Technical Skills:
- Supervise site works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Review and approve electrical material submittals and shop drawings.
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants for timely execution.
