What we’re looking for…

ScienceLogic is seeking a Senior Engineer, Developer Platform to improve our developer platform and tools. This role will focus on the creation and maintenance of our modern developer platform, leveraging Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud computing to empower our developers to create cutting-edge and innovative software systems. You will be working with a team of experienced engineers in the platform engineering, DevSecOps, and cloud architecture world. This role requires a driven and curious individual, willing to learn new technologies and experiment with development teams in order to find the latest and greatest tools to integrate into our workflow, as a driving force behind the software factory here at ScienceLogic.

What you’ll be doing…

In this role, you will be developing tools and infrastructure for our development platform, including container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and other analysis and engineering tools.

· Develop our internal Kubernetes platform that fuels our developer workflows, including both hosting developer environments as well as our central tooling and systems

· Coordinate with developer teams to understand requirements and workflows

· Enforce best practices when it comes to container development, CI/CD pipelines, and general software engineering

· Work with an experienced and collaborative team, contributing to team discussions around technology choice, implementation, and architecture

Qualities you possess…

You are a driven and curious engineer who loves to learn about the newest technologies and evaluate efficiencies in existing pipelines. You look at things with an objective and scientific lens to experiment and quantify value, rather than leaning on feelings or claims.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related fields with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or 5-8 years of relevant experience

· Ability to operate independently on tasks and own feature delivery from end-to-end

· Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms and developing pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)

· Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration in production environments, particularly deployed as infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)

· Experience working in public cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

· Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages (Python or Go preferred)

· Experience collaborating with a team of varied specialties and external collaborators

· Experience documenting best practices, architecture, and policies for consumption of both technical and non-technical roles

· Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.).

· Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including secure build pipelines and compliance automation.
