Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Telecommunications Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. Our telecommunications networks cover the full spectrum of technologies including fibre optic, transmission & multiplexing, microwave, LAN/WAN, PABX, TETRA and other radio networks. Reporting to Manager, the appointee will lead the telecommunications network evaluation, budget preparation, strategy formulation, plan and design of the in-house Telecommunications Networks of the Company.
Major Duties include:
Lead the Operations and Maintenance of the in-house wireline and wireless telecommunications networks for utility applications
Oversee day-to-day operations of telecommunications systems, including data network, corporate Wi-Fi Network and IP Telephony systems.
Maintain network availability, reliability, and performance per SLA.
Design resilient and redundant network architecture aligned with company standards.
Ensure all network systems, servers, and platforms follow cybersecurity policies and regulations.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for telecom data network infrastructure.
Lead the team for troubleshooting and fault resolution to minimize downtime.
Manage incident response and root cause analysis for network failures.
Plan and execute network upgrades, configuration change, and capacity expansions.
Manage contractors to meet technical, safety, quality, and CLP standards
Provide technical advice and support to internal customers on telecom services and solutions
Promoting safety culture by leading as examples
Perform duties during typhoon periods, adverse weather conditions, and non-office hours as required
Track operational costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Requirements
A recognized university degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent
MHKIE or equivalent would be an advantage
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecom network operations & management, network management of telecommunications systems, with proven experience in leading teams for the operations of data networking platform.
Solid experience in designing, maintaining, and operating in large-scale data networks (such as LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), PABX and IP Telephony.
Ability to perform end-to-end data network design, configuration, and troubleshooting across these protocols in complex enterprise environments.
Advanced knowledge of IP routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, MPLS-VPN, WI-FI
Holder of CCNP/CCIE or equivalent would be an advantage
Experience in leading and executing large-scale telecom network tenders would be an advantage
- Strong safety and environmental awareness, with the ability to work under pressure and make rational decisions
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, managerial, and leadership skills
Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
Possession of a valid Driving License class 1, 2 would be an advantage
Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
