The company is currently in the midst of a dramatic expansion, driven by significant enhancements to its platforms and offerings, with the goal of becoming the pre-eminent destination for luxury globally.About Saks Technology:Saks Technology teams are responsible for building and innovating the Saks online experience, consisting of different functional teams including Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, Stores, Technology Strategy and Enablement, Data and Machine Learning. Roles and Responsibilities:- AWS Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Engineering
- Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Infrastructure Automation
- Infrastructure as Code with GitOps principles, based on need.
Tech Stack:
- AWS Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda).
- Expertise in designing and managing highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Strong skills in VPC design, including subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, security groups, and network ACLs.
- Experience with AWS networking services like Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and PrivateLink.
- Hands-on with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service):
- Expertise deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS using EKS.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, pods, deployments, services, ingress controllers, and RBAC.
- Experience configuring cluster autoscaling, node groups, and managing Kubernetes upgrades.
- Familiarity with networking within EKS — CNI plugins, service meshes, and load balancing.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing Kubernetes workloads for performance and reliability.
- KEDA (Kubernetes Event-driven Autoscaling):
- Experience implementing KEDA to enable event-driven autoscaling of Kubernetes workloads.
- Configuring KEDA scalers for event sources like Kafka, AWS SQS, Azure Event Hubs, and custom metrics.
- Monitoring and tuning autoscaling behavior to optimize resource usage and application responsiveness.
- Kafka:
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Apache Kafka clusters (self-managed or AWS MSK).
- Understanding Kafka architecture, topics, partitions, replication, and brokers.
- Experience integrating Kafka with Kubernetes workloads for event-driven microservices.
- Managing Kafka security — encryption, authentication (SASL, TLS), and access controls.
- Knowledge of Kafka monitoring tools and troubleshooting message delivery issues.
- Networking:
- Strong foundation in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and network troubleshooting.
- Designing and implementing secure network architectures with private subnets, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity.
- Knowledge of network policies and security controls within Kubernetes and AWS.
- Experience configuring ingress and egress traffic for multi-tenant Kubernetes environments.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code:
- Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Automating cluster provisioning, scaling, and configuration management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Information Science preferred).
- Strong academic record, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial experience of using version control tooling (GIT) in a large development team performing.
- Strong Debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with tools like ArgoCD, Jira, GitHub and with eCommerce frameworks.
- Open to writing code and exploring new tools and technologies.
- 5+ years in cloud infrastructure engineering with strong AWS focus.
- Proven experience running production-grade Kubernetes clusters with EKS.
- Hands-on use of KEDA for event-driven scaling in Kubernetes.
- Experience managing Kafka for high-throughput, low-latency streaming applications.
- Designing secure and scalable network architectures in cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively across DevOps, development, and security teams.
- Clear communication of infrastructure design decisions and operational procedures.
- Proactive approach to improving reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
