Role overview:
The Senior Engineer (Azure Cloud & Integration) is a hands-on software engineer responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud-native data and integration solutions that support Salesforce Data 360 and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
The role focuses on engineering scalable, reliable, and automated data pipelines and integration layers, primarily on Microsoft Azure, enabling secure audience ingestion, transformation, synchronization, and activation at enterprise scale.
This position complements Salesforce platform specialists by extending SaaS capabilities through custom engineering, improving operational reliability, observability, and data quality, and reducing long-term BAU effort.

Key responsibilities:
Own the design and implementation of Azure-based data and integration solutions supporting Salesforce Data 360 and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Build and maintain automated, scalable, and production-grade data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and synchronization.
Engineer API-based integrations between Salesforce platforms and internal or external systems.
Improve platform reliability, observability, performance, and data quality through code-level optimizations and monitoring.
Support complex cross-system data flows, where platform configuration alone is insufficient.
Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex data and integration issues.
Ensure solutions comply with security, privacy, consent, and data governance standards.
Reduce BAU effort through automation, standardization, and reusable engineering patterns.
Collaborate closely with Salesforce platform engineers, Product, and Architecture teams.
Provide technical guidance and promote strong software and data engineering practices across the platform landscape.
Qualifications and skills:
Essential:
+4 years of experience in Azure-based data engineering and integrations, including building and operating scalable data pipelines (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS Gen2; Synapse as a plus).
Solid programming and automation skills using Python and/or Node.js, with ability to write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code.
Good understanding of data engineering fundamentals, including SQL, data transformations, data modelling, and batch / near-real-time processing.
Hands-on experience with API-based integrations (REST), event-driven and pipeline-oriented architectures.
Practical knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Git-based workflows and deployment automation (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).
Experience with observability and operations, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and production incident analysis.
Working knowledge of Salesforce ecosystems (Salesforce Data 360 and Salesforce Marketing Cloud), including ingestion concepts, connectors, identity resolution, and integration constraints.
Awareness of platform extension patterns and limitations when integrating SaaS platforms with custom cloud solutions.
Fluent English
Preferred:
Experience working in cloud-native environments beyond Azure
Familiarity with marketing activation flows and the audience lifecycle (from ingestion to activation)
Exposure to privacy-by-design and consent-driven architectures
Azure certifications (Developer/Data Engineer/Solutions Architect)
Salesforce-related certifications (Data Cloud / Marketing Cloud or adjacent)
Experience integrating SaaS platforms with custom cloud solutions, including understanding of platform extension patterns and limitations
