Role Overview
This role will play a key role in Athena’s AI initiatives, focusing on agentic automation workflows and orchestration, RAG design, fine-tuning, and model testing/tuning for our AI systems. This role demands a blend of AI expertise and practical software engineering/ AI application skills to enhance the performance and functionality of our AI models, ensuring they deliver value to our clients through advanced and reliable applications.
Responsibilities:
Agentic Workflow creation: Implement task automation through the creation of smart AI Agent workflows and leveraging cutting edge Agent tooling like OpenAI SDK, CrewAI, MCP/A2A protocols etc
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): Implement and maintain RAG systems for relevance and accuracy of AI model use cases, ensuring high-quality output.
Model Fine-Tuning (SFT + RLHF): Lead efforts in fine-tuning AI models to specific domains or tasks, improving their performance and evaluation.
Data Collection Workflows: Influence the design decisions on creation data collection workflows to fully leverage the treasure trove of data Athena has to offer
Model Testing/Tuning: Design and execute rigorous testing protocols for AI models, and tune them to optimize for accuracy, speed, and relevance.
Prompt Engineering: Develop and optimize AI prompts that effectively guide model behavior to achieve desired outcomes in various use cases and understanding how various SOTA LLM models react under different prompts
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to integrate AI capabilities into Athena’s product offerings.
AI Best Practices: Stay at the forefront of AI developments, advocating for and implementing best practices in applied AI within the organization.
Knowledge Dissemination: Share AI expertise with the team, providing mentorship and contributing to the organization’s collective knowledge base.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven track record in applied AI, machine learning, or a related field, with experience in prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and testing/tuning.
Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in relevant programming languages such as Python, along with experience in AI frameworks and libraries.
AI Model Development: Deep understanding of AI model development processes, including training, validation, and deployment of machine learning models.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical AI solutions that address real-world challenges.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, driving progress and innovation in AI applications.
Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing landscape, with the ability to pivot between projects and priorities as needed.
Education: A master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
