Position Summary
The Senior Energy Efficiency (EE) Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and managing successful marketing activities that increase awareness and participation for utility EE programs. This position works closely with EE Team staff and other departments within the organization to identify and pursue opportunities to drive customer participation for EE programs within multiple jurisdictions. The Senior EE Marketing Specialist will also ensure marketing activities are in accordance with relevant statutory objectives and regulatory requirements
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Works closely with Energy Efficiency Marketing leadership and staff to support EE program participation growth by developing content marketing and demand generation strategies that drive awareness and engagement.
• Responsible for the deployment of multichannel EE marketing plans within approved budgets across various campaigns, mediums, and delivery channels.
• Leads projects to develop marketing campaigns, messaging, brand collateral, and long-term strategies that relate to the progress and success of the Company’s EE programs.
• Manages relationships with external creative agencies and program implementers that support EE marketing and outreach strategies.
• Work with creative and media agencies to develop marketing materials, including advertising campaigns, website content, emails, and event materials.
• Curates the content needed for the digital presence of EE programs including websites, social media platforms, and CRM initiatives (Pardot) through coordinated efforts with internal company stakeholders.
• Develops, implements, and optimizes targeted email marketing campaigns to drive customer participation.
• Serves as a marketing subject-matter expert by providing data-driven results, insights, and recommendations to EE leadership and as needed to regulators, lawmakers, executives, and other EE program stakeholders.
• Monitors and reports meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for marketing activities and analyzes results to improve methods to achieve EE program milestones and objectives.
• Champions consistent use of Washington Gas branding and Commission-ordered branding in both internal and external communications.
• Routinely identifies optimizations and new ideas to enhance program participation, growth, and scalability, followed by consistent execution from start-to-finish.
• Coordinate event marketing activities to support program implementation and outreach teams.
• Performs other projects or special assignments as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor's Degree marketing, advertising, business, or related field. preferred
• 5+ Years carrying out one or more of the following activities: (1) marketing, (2) advertising, (3) customer engagement, or (4) community outreach. required
• Proven subject matter expertise in marketing and outreach strategies.
• Ability to work within a small team (10-12 people) setting and, on occasion, autonomously with limited supervision.
• Ability to develop and implement business cases to meet overall program objectives.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to logically analyze and solve broadly defined business problems with innovative solutions.
• Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office applications, to share, retrieve, research and present business information.
• Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse internal and external audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, including creative agencies, vendors and program implementation teams.
• Strong understanding of basic web/Internet content development concepts.
• Proficiency in digital marketing, including social media, email marketing (Pardot), and SEO, is crucial for reaching and engaging target audiences.
• Ability to analyze and communicate marketing data.
• Graduate degree in relevant field preferred
• Energy industry and energy efficiency experience preferred
We offer a competitive salary range of $91,500 to $125,625 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
