Phillips Lytle has an excellent reputation and a roster of high-profile clients including Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies in industries such as telecommunications, technology, energy, nanotechnology, manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences.


The Energy and Renewables Team seeks to hire a senior attorney (Albany, Buffalo, Chicago, Garden City, New York City or Rochester) with eight or more years of experience handling regulatory matters related to the energy sector. Candidates should have experience practicing before a state public utility commission and/or handling issues involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, and/or New York Independent System Operator (or other similar Regional Transmission Organization). Prior work experience within the government or at a utility or energy company is a plus, but not required. Ideal candidates will have portable business and a demonstrated ability to originate and maintain strong client relationships.

Annual salary range for this position is:

  • Albany, Buffalo, Rochester                                           $152,000-$225,000
  • Chicago, Garden City, New York City                          $189,000-$250,000

Actual pay may be adjusted based on location, experience, volume and nature of portable business, or other job-related factors permitted by law.

Skills Required
