Description:

Join our Global People Team as an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist for North America. In this newly created role, you will foster positive employee relationships and ensure compliance with labor laws across the US, Canada, and the Americas. You will also manage US immigration matters and support our foreign nationals.

Reporting to the Global Head of Employee Relations, you’ll:

  • Establish best practices in Employee Relations
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge in Performance Management
  • Drive process changes and efficiencies
  • Make timely, well-reasoned decisions
  • Collaborate with the wider People Team

Responsibilities

  • Guide business leaders and People Team colleagues on employee relations issues, including disputes, complaints, performance management, onboarding strategies, company policies, disciplinary actions, background checks, and legal requirements.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for complex employee relations issues, working closely with in-house and external legal counsel.
  • Lead employee relations practices to foster positive employer-employee relationships and high engagement levels across our offices in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and handbooks to reflect local market practices and legal changes.
  • Conduct and oversee employee-related investigations as needed.
  • Manage immigration programs, ensuring compliance with visa sponsorship and renewal processes for US foreign nationals.
  • Ensure all employee records meet state and federal requirements.


 Requirements for the Role

  • 5+ years as a Human Resources Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist, with a strong track record in handling complex investigations and issue resolution.
  • Deep understanding of local labor laws across the Americas, Canada, and the Caribbean, with a strong emphasis on US regulations.
  • People Skills:
    • Confidence and gravitas to advise and collaborate with senior leaders.
    • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives.
    • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and information.
    • Dependable and accountable, both personally and in leading others.
  • Familiarity with US visa and immigration laws and processes.
  • Guided by principles, values, and standards, maintaining discretion with sensitive information.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that values different perspectives and innovative solutions.

Base Salary Range: $145,000 – $170,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).


Bonus Eligible: Yes


Total Compensation Package: Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and rewards.


Flexible Work Policy:

Work Arrangement - Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
