Role Overview
The Senior HR Manager will serve as the company’s expert on employment law, customs, and practices specific to Germany. This role is crucial for ensuring legal compliance and fostering a culturally sensitive work environment. The Senior People and Culture (P&C) Manager will develop and implement People and Culture / HR policies, employee benefits, manage employee relations, and oversee recruitment and onboarding processes. Additionally, they will ensure that the organisation are fully trained local employment laws and best practices, and provide strategic advice to senior management. The ideal candidate will have extensive HR experience, in-depth knowledge of local laws, and strong leadership and communication skills. This role is integral to in country leadership team and to the People and Culture Business Partners and the VP of P&C, EMEA to ensure alignment between people initiatives and business objectives in a fast paced environment to foster a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Legal Compliance: Ensure the company’s HR policies and practices comply with local employment laws and regulations.

Advisory Role: Serve as the go-to expert for all matters related to employment law, customs, and practices in Germany.

Policy Development: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with local laws and cultural practices.

Employee Relations: Manage employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.

Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for management and staff on local employment laws and HR best practices. Working with the EMEA L&D team

Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring compliance with local regulations and cultural fit. Supported by Generalist team

Performance Management: Implement and manage performance management systems that align with local customs and practices.

Reporting: Prepare and present reports on HR metrics and compliance issues to senior management. Supported by Generalist team and People Analytics team
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of senior HR experience, with a focus on employment law and practices in Germany

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local employment laws, customs, and HR best practices.

Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Certifications: HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
