Build the embedded intelligence behind large-scale commercial heating systems - powering the energy transition at scale.
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Remeha / BDR Thermea Group, you play a key role in developing the software that drives complex commercial HVAC and heating installations across Europe. From hospitals and factories to large residential complexes and public buildings, your work ensures that our systems operate reliably, efficiently, and intelligently in demanding, real-world environments.
You contribute across the full development lifecycle - from early design discussions and architectural considerations to implementation, testing, and delivery. Working on system-level challenges, you help ensure interoperability between boilers, heat pumps, building management systems (BMS), and third-party integrations.
This is a role with broad scope: you combine hands-on embedded development with a system mindset, balancing performance, constraints, and long product lifecycles. You also help bring modern engineering practices into an environment that is evolving towards more advanced platforms and tooling.
This is a hybrid role, based out of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. You are invited to work on-site at the office for a minimum of two days per week. We support your home office set-up, travel costs, and provide flexibility regarding hybrid work.
You will join the Commercial Systems cluster within the Digital & Controls (DaC) team. This is an international, multidisciplinary environment where software engineers, architects, product owners, and testers collaborate on large-scale, high-impact systems.
The team works in an Agile setup with multiple scrum teams and clusters and is moving towards feature-based development for complex installations rather than single products.
Together, you build the “brain” behind commercial heating systems - including controllers and gateways that integrate with third-party technologies - helping accelerate the transition to more sustainable energy solutions.
