Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to play a critical role in improving and saving lives around the world through expertise in Systems Design, Development, and Integration, for Philips' Sleep & Respiratory Care products.
Your role
- Participate in the development of embedded software including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and documentation
- Develop software, independently and according to own judgement, targeted development assignments, the broad outlines of which have already been indicated
- Work with research, marketing, and end users to refine requirements
- Create products according to the specifications and software development process
- Create engineering documentations to comply with product development policies, practices and procedures
You're the right fit
- You’ve acquired 6 + years of experience developing embedded solutions; B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of embedded application development, develop, test, and deploy application on custom hardware/devices
- Working knowledge of C and C++; works under close supervision on segments of a project or very small project and performs tasks to schedule and requirements
- Preferred skills: Familiarity with IEC standards such as but not limited to, IEC 62304 and IEC 81001-5-1, EU Medical Device Directive (MDD) compliance and EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) compliance; Software cybersecurity risk assessment and mitigation
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
Additional Information

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance of Pittsburgh and Murrysville, PA.
Please note: Due to the consolidation of our sites, this role will start at the Bakery Square office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will move to another site in the greater Pittsburgh area by the end of the year. This change will bring our teams in western Pennsylvania closer together to remain competitive and committed to our customers, clinicians, and patients and create value with sustainable impact.
