This Position reports to:

R&D Department Lead
 

Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is contributing to the Motion Business High Power Division, Bangalore, India
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Embedded development of variable frequency drives at various layers of its architecture.

  • Collaborate with global R&D and product management teams to develop world class products.

  • Demonstrate solid competency in embedded C++/C programming and design concepts.

  • Strong collaboration within R&D community and alignment with agile software development principles.

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to quality culture in ABB R&D.

  • Mindset to take risk, share success and failures in the team.

  • Mindset towards innovative thinking and challenging the current situations.

Qualifications for the role :

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field with 8 to 10 years of experience in embedded SW programming on C++ / C.

  • Must have strong experience in Embedded C++/ C, preferably in Drives / VFD / Inverter Embedded System design and development (4-5 Yrs. Exp)

  • Experience in Drives / VFD Simulation programming.

  • Experience in Virtualization of embedded systems with simulations tools like – Simulink / Matlab.

  • Experience in Windows programming and related tools, e.g. using Visual Studio debugging capabilities and deploying Windows SW to customers

  • Experience on SW development tools like: GIT, VS Code, static code analysis, AI assisted SW development, backlog management tools.

  • Expertise in design patterns and OOPs concepts.

  • Experience in Unit testing for the developed modules / components.

  • Strong knowledge about CICD processes, Jenkins or equivalent tool, test automation using unit testing, integration testing and system testing.
