Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Applications
Business Unit: Data Center and Energy
Location: Bangalore
About the RoleDevelop production-ready embedded firmware for our Data Center and Energy products. You'll build complete applications integrating measurement algorithms, communication protocols, and system services on ARM Cortex-M platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop embedded firmware for energy monitoring and data center management systems
- Integrate measurement algorithms with hardware peripherals (ADC, timers, DMA, communication interfaces)
- Implement communication protocols (Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP) and connectivity solutions
- Develop with RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS) - task management, synchronization, interrupt handling
- Implement device drivers, bootloaders, and firmware update mechanisms
- Develop data logging, configuration management, and user interface features
- Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development and debugging
- Debug using JTAG/SWD and collaborate with hardware/validation teams
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience:
- 4-8 years of embedded systems development experience
Technical Skills:
- Strong C/C++ programming for embedded systems
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and development tools
- RTOS knowledge (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or similar)
- Communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet/TCP-IP)
- Embedded toolchains (GCC, Keil, IAR) and debuggers (JTAG/SWD)
- Version control (Git) and basic scripting ability
- Comfortable using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) for development
Professional Skills:
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of real-time embedded systems
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Experience with Cortex-M33, Cortex-M7, or Cortex-M85 architectures
