Ocado Technology designs and deploys thousands of robots across 4 different continents. We are currently seeking excellent Mechatronics Engineers to help us create sophisticated, novel end of arm tooling. You will work closely with other disciplines (Hardware, Software, ML, Manufacturing, Product, etc.) to ensure that the designs you create integrate into our larger system design.
Essential Qualifications:
- EDUCATION:
- Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Degree
- Or other education and relevant industrial experience
- Excellent understanding of electronics fundamentals
- Familiarity with PCB design and simulation tools, e.g., KiCad, Altium, SPICE
- Experience working with mechanical systems
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques, e.g. 3d printing
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Good understanding of a low-level programming language (e.g. C)
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience designing power electronics
- Experience designing analog circuitry
- Experience with board level hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART) as well as fieldbus technologies (Modbus, CANopen, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP)
- Experience selecting and integrating motors (BLDC, stepper, etc.) and motor controllers
