We are looking for a Senior Electromechanical Engineer to own electrical, optical and sensing harness/interconnect products for a space-based antenna application. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys developing unique solutions to unique problems - from preliminary system design and component selection to qualification, integration & flight.
What you'll do:
- Own the design and selection of the spacecraft’s wiring harness — electrical wiring, optical fiber, connectors, and interconnects.
- Own antenna specific sensors and their integration, routing, and signal interfaces.
- Define harness and connector requirements and drive component selection and supplier evaluation.
- Take harness, connectors, and fiber through qualification for the flight environment.
- Develop routing, strain-relief, and integration approaches compatible with a spacecraft structure.
- Create harness drawings, wire lists, and interface documentation.
- Support assembly, integration, and test, and resolve harness-related anomalies throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Required qualifications:
- Own the design and selection of the spacecraft’s wiring harness — electrical wiring, optical fiber, connectors, and interconnects.
- Own antenna specific sensors and their integration, routing, and signal interfaces.
- Define harness and connector requirements and drive component selection and supplier evaluation.

- Create harness drawings, wire lists, and interface documentation.
- Support assembly, integration, and test, and resolve harness-related anomalies throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Preferred qualifications:
- Optical fiber / fiber-optic harness experience.
- Sensors and instrumentation integration.
- Space or flight environmental qualification (thermal-vacuum, vibration, radiation).
- Experience with space structures.
Location
On-site in California or Texas. Some travel between sites may be required.

- Authorized to work in the role location (no visa sponsorship provided).
- On-site presence in California or Texas (some inter-site travel may be required).
What We Do
E-Space is a global space company focused on bridging Earth and space with the most sustainable low earth orbit (LEO) network that is expected to reach over one hundred thousand multi-application communication satellites to help businesses and governments securely and affordably access the power of space to solve problems on Earth. Founded by industry pioneer Greg Wyler, E-Space is focused on democratizing space and transforming industries by bringing down the cost of space-based communications, raising the level of satellite system resiliency and setting a new standard in sustainable space infrastructure that will effectively minimize and reduce space debris and destruction while preserving access to space for future generations.
