Job Summary:

Are you a seasoned senior level project manager and looking to make a lasting impact on the future of the built environment? We are a well-established and growing engineering firm seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical systems across commercial, healthcare, education (K–12 and higher education), retail, hospitality, multi-family, and other public-sector facility projects. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, professional environment that values precision, innovation, and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage electrical system designs across commercial, healthcare, education (K–12 and higher education), retail, hospitality, multi-family, and other public-sector facility projects—from conceptual design to final construction documents, and closeout.

  • Collaborate closely with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and building system requirements.
  • Have a basic understanding of fire and life safety systems—including fire alarm and emergency communication systems—in alignment with Uniform Building Codes, California Building Codes, NFPA standards, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), and project-specific requirements.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage all code review documentation, responses, and approvals, ensuring compliance with AHJ and other agencies.
  • Conduct site investigations to evaluate existing conditions, and perform periodic construction administration visits, producing clear field reports and providing technical guidance throughout the construction process.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, school districts, consultants, and regulatory agencies, maintaining strong relationships while facilitating project approvals and successful delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and designers, including conducting quality-control reviews of design documents and offering coaching, direction, and corrective recommendations.

Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM modeling. Ability to utilize electrical engineering analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, or comparable tools) is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of the National Electrical Code, California Electrical Code (CEC), Title 24/Energy Code compliance, AZ Codes, NFPA standards, and related industry/AHJ codes and guidelines.
  • Low voltage / technology design experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to clients, design partners, and team members.
  • Strong organizational capabilities with proven project management, scheduling, and team coordination experience.
