Introduction to the role
Leads the definition, specification and validation of highly reliable electronic board designs for EUV light source. Participates in cross-functional teams and works with architects and other engineering groups to conceptualize, design and develop boards into product. Contributes to roadmap planning, promotes innovation and incorporates relevant new technologies and methodologies. Provides guidance to the team with different technologies including SRIO, PCIe, PLC, Ethernet, photo-detectors, differential signaling, wideband circuits; high speed embedded computing, VHDL, distributed signal acquisition, and signal integrity in a noisy environment. Assists management with schedule and project planning activities.
Role and responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and maintain analog and digital board-level hardware and electrical modules.
- Serve as Electronic Development representative within cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead technical decision-making, including trade-off studies and architecture definition with stakeholders.
- Act as technical lead, including oversight of outsourced/co-development activities.
- Define work breakdown structures, effort estimates, and support project planning activities.
- Ensure design quality, compliance, and reliability through reviews and risk mitigation practices.
- Contribute to product roadmaps and continuous improvement of electronics platforms.
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution of reliability and performance issues
- Review system specifications and ensure alignment with hardware design implementations.
- Coach and mentor team members; transfer knowledge to production and service engineering.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's Degree preferred.
- Must have 8 years of relevant experience.
- Requires design experience with relevant technologies.
- Requires Analog and Digital Design circuit design fundamentals.
- Knowledge of high speed communications protocols.
- Demonstrated understanding of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) fundamentals.

Other Information
- This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
- A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
- Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$126,750-190,125Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
