Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team, focusing on onshore Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical engineering projects, ensuring that all electrical aspects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Engineering:
- Lead the development of detailed electrical engineering designs for onshore Oil & Gas facilities, including:
- Power Distribution Systems: Design of High, medium and low voltage power distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and distribution panels..
- Lighting Systems: Design of area and emergency lighting systems.
- Grounding and Bonding: Design of grounding and bonding systems to ensure safety and compliance with standards.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination using industry-standard software such as:
- ETAP (Electrical Transient and Analysis Program)
- SKM PowerTools
- EasyPower

- Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL)
- Develop single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics using CAD software such as:
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- Prepare technical specifications, design calculations, and construction drawings.
- Conduct arc flash studies and develop mitigation strategies.

2. Project Management:
- Manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Engineering Manager and project team.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, civil, process) to ensure integrated project delivery.

3. Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Conduct design reviews, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including:
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards
- American Petroleum Institute (API) standards
- International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards

4. Site Development:
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather data for design and construction.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for site development.
- Prepare and review site development plans, including layout drawings and equipment placement.

5. Construction Support:
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing contractor submittals, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), and conducting site inspections.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to electrical engineering aspects of projects.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

6. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all electrical engineering designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare and submit permit applications and other regulatory documentation

Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly archived.
- Prepare technical findings and project status reports for clients, stakeholders, and management.


Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

- Proven experience in Project engineering of Concept, FEED, Detail Design and EPC Project
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD,SPEL).
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, API).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with onshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and electrical safety standards.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, PLCs, and DCS.
- Experience with project management tools and software.
