Job DescriptionThis position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member. Job responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Ability to lead project team(s) and execute projects on time, within budget, and with a high degree of quality.
- Interface with clients as required to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Have technical capability to mentor team members in the execution of their duties.
- Work activities will include
- Forensic investigation of equipment failures.
- Design and analyze equipment and systems in power plants and buildings.
- Design instrument test loops to evaluate component failure cause.
- Instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis of equipment and structures.
- Evaluate materials and composition of electrical components and systems for application suitability.
- Design and analyze mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with opportunities to expand scope as our building design and forensic practice grows.
- Write technical reports without supervision.
- Can-do attitude, self-motivated and able to perform requirements with minimal guidance
- Must be willing to work at and able to be badged at commercial nuclear facilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 8+ years’ experience.
- Possess EIT certification. Licensed professional engineer preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with efficient use of Microsoft products.
- Ability to pass background and drug screenings to obtain security clearances at a commercial nuclear plant.
- Ability to travel to customer or project sites, which may include weekends.

This role requires in-office attendance 4 days per week, based in our Amesbury, MA office; however, candidates located near any of SOCOTEC's other Northeast offices — including Charlestown, MA, New York, NY, Worcester, MA, or Chicago, IL — can also be considered
