Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as Technical Authority for all electrical systems for Peregrine lunar landers. You will work closely with Responsible Engineers for Avionics, RF Communications, Power, and Harness to deliver hardware and engineering analysis products for those respective subsystems with appropriate technical rigor. You will also work closely with Peregrine Program Management to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and with Peregrine’s Chief Engineer to ensure technical risks, issues, and opportunities are documented. 

Job responsibilities: 

  • Single point of technical accountability for all electrical systems of a lunar lander.
  • Develop, document, and maintain the technical solution for lunar lander electrical system within project/program constraints and baselines.
  • Delegate technical authority of specific engineering scope to dotted line engineers that report to you
  • Identify and characterize risks, issues, and opportunities; and manage execution of approved resolution plans.
  • Define and defend verification and acceptance approaches
  • Support configuration control and baseline integrity
  • Review and approve supplier technical deliverables and milestone reviews
  • Present technical status, definition, and defend assigned scope at formal program reviews

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in developing spacecraft electrical systems for a Class D unmanned spacecraft or similar
  • Ability to mentor and lead small teams of engineers to design complex products
  • Systems engineering (SE) experience for controlling requirements, risks, and integration flow
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Good communication and technical writing skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • 5+ years of experience in spacecraft electrical systems (Avionics, EPS, RF Comms, Harness)
  • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Equivalent Work Experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with power budgeting process and system level energy balance analysis
  • Familiar with solar photovoltaic and lithium-ion battery technology
  • Familiar with RF Communications system performance and link budgets
  • Familiar with electronics and circuit analysis and component/LRU design processes
  • Microsoft Project/JIRA or similar task management and scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of Range Safety and Ground Safety electronics compliance
  • Knowledge of NASA-STD 4001 and NASA-STD 4003 or similar
  • Knowledge of space environmental tests (TVAC, Shock and Vibe, EMI/EMC)
  • M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering

The good faith base salary range is $110,000-$140,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
